MSN Research Grant Awards 2023

BACKGROUND

The Malaysian Society of Nephrology has decided to award grants for innovation, exploration and application of research to advance knowledge in Nephrology.

The objective of the MSN Research Grant is to stimulate and support the research in the fields of nephrology, dialytic therapies and renal transplantation with the goal to improve the quality of care provided to kidney patients and to promote clinical research in nephrology.

The allocated grant is up to RM60,000 per year. All applications will be reviewed by MSN Research Grant Review Committee and be endorsed by MSN Council before announcement.

WHEN IS IT OPENED FOR APPLICATION?

Period of application: 1 November 2023 till 31 January 2024

The grant award will be announced before MSN Annual Congress the following year

WHO CAN APPLY?

Principal Investigator has to be MSN Life member

WHAT ARE THE TERMS & CONDITIONS?

  1. PRIORITY will be given to multicentre study
  2. All study projects MUST BE initiated by nephrology trainee(s) and supervised by consultant nephrologist (Principal Investigator).
  3. All studies must be approval by ethic committee & be registered with NMRR.
  4. The grant awarded must be used within the three-year grant term. Funds remaining at the end of the award term may be used for the awardee for the same research project, with the agreement of the MSN council.
  5. Annual progress report should be submitted to MSN Research Grant Review Committee, (msn@msn.org.my) by 31 January of each year.
  6. At the end of the award term, awardees must submit final progress report and present their research paper during the MSN Annual Congress.
  7. The awardees are encouraged to submit the research article to Journal of Clinical and Translational Nephrology (JCTN) , the official online journal of Malaysian Society of Nephrology, for publication.
  8. MSN support should be acknowledged in any publication in peer-reviewed journals.
